In the setting of a healthy structured heart, what would cause a run of multifocal VT? I was told today by my doctor that it is nothing to worry about, but I would like to research the things that can cause it so I can ask for those to be ruled out. Thank you
In the face of an otherwise normal heart, my concern would be whether you are at risk for long QT syndrome (LQTS) or Torsade de points. This is a potential dangerous arrhythmia and I have written about this before:
In your case, how much of an evaluation have you had? If this is based on one EKG by your Family Doctor, I recommend consultation with a cardiologist, careful evaluation of your EKG, blood tests for low potassium, magnesium and calcium levels and exercise testing.
Hope this helps, come back if you have more questions,
