Early repolarization is not an uncommon finding on EKG, occurring in 2% to 5% of the population, often in men, young adults, blacks, and athletes. Although most often thought to be benign, SOME forms of early repolarization may be potentially cause dangerous arrhythmias.
If ECG findings of early repolarization are “localized to the inferolateral leads”, causes that include the long-QT syndrome, the short-QT syndrome, the Brugada syndrome, and arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia need to be excluded.

Have you seen an EP cardiologist? This requires an opninion that is beyond the scope of this site. If he/she suspects that this could be a familiar problem, he/she should be able to get your sister referred to a cardiac specialist. These types of arrhythmias are certainly beyond the expertise of a PCP.Dr T
