Question:
I take the following medications: Toprol-XL, Lipitor, low-dose aspirin and Imdur (for angina). Would it be dangerous for me to drink one glass of red wine per day? Thank you.

Hi Ken,
Of course not! If your symptoms are well controlled (and you don’t notice any problems), you will be fine. A heart-healthy life style may well include a glass of red wine, like other nutrients will also help improve your cholesterol and raise your HDL. Coronary artery disease is often well controlled with medical therapy and management of crdaic risk factors. Enjoy!

Hope this helps,
Dr T
