Question:
Doctor,
Please answer a couple of questions for me. 1. If a person has hypertension, or has suffered a minor heart attack, and he is taking medications to keep his condition under control, does he still have a higher chance of another heart problem than someone who has never had heart issues? Thanks, God Bless!
Answer:
Hi Bud,
The situation may be under control, but you will continue to have coronary artery disease and are at risk for it to worsen as time goes by. Therefore it is very important you live a heart healthy lifestyle.
You can calculate your cardiac risks here, and see where you fit in!
Hope this helps,
Dr T
