I have a strong history of heart disease in my family. Should I be concerned?

Q:

Hello,  I come from a family where heart disease is a concern on my mom’s side of the family.  Her grandmom, her dad, and his two brothers all died in their 40’s of sudden heart attacks.  Since then it seems my mom who is 59 and her 4 siblings have been free from any real health problems.  However, this week my cousin, who is my age, 35, had a massive heart attack and would be dead if not for a friend insisting he go to the hospital.  I am wondering what the appropriate tests would be for me and my younger siblings to screen early for any heart problems.  Thank you so much for your help.
