over the last year i thought that i was unfit, as i had noticed that my heart was beating very fast. so i just put it down to being unfit and ignored it. i dont smoke n rarely drink, i try not to eat too much junk, cholesterol is fine. had a shower n noticed my heart beating fast so i timed it n it was at 130. i mentioned it to the doc .. she put me on betabloc. when i walk i am breathless sometimes. n in the last two days i have felt a lil pain under my ribs just for a second. went to a cardio. n he said i have a murmur.. but didnt explain that.. n now i need more tests. he only said “extra noise”
The combination of not feeling well, tachycardia (or palpitations), a heart murmur and some chest pains indicates you need a thorough check up.
Some of the symptoms can be caused by things like anemia, so you need a blood test to see if you’re anemic and if so, why.
Next you need to find out is whether your heart is healthy, so you need to have other blood tests (including Thyroid), an EKG and possibly 24 hour monitoring to determine the nature of your fast heart rate.
Women often have atypical symptoms of angina & coronary artery disease, another potential explanation of your symptoms.
Last, you may have side effects from your Beta blocker. They are indeed sometimes indicated, but subscribed for a specific reason, not as a shot in the dark!
