Question:
Dr T,
I am a 38 years old male.I have been having mild left arm pain for past 2/3 days which is now subsiding or I think so. I have very high cholesterol levels (diagnosed last week only) which I am trying to control by exercise, diet etc. I feel little heaviness in the left side of chest specially beside left arm pit. It is not painful. I had been to doctor yesterday and had my EKG and Troponins Test done and both are OK. My EKG showed some borderline Q-waves after which doctor did Troponins Test and after that told me to relax and no medicine was prescribed.

Your symptoms are suggestive of a cardiac origin. A negative EKG or negative Troponins do not exclude this. Check that here:

It sounds like you are at risk for heart disease, even though you are young. You can check that here:

Since I am concerned this angina, you should ask your doctor for a stress test to confirm or exclude this possibility:

Hope this helps,
