Pleuritic chest pains are caused by inflammation between layers of the lung and the inside of your chest wall. A variety of causes include pleurisy, pneumonia, a pulmonary embolism or lung cancer. Other diseases include Asbestosis, Lupus and reumatoid arthritis.
