Question:
Hi! I have been struggling with PVCs for years now. Had every test under the sun..multiple holters and echoes, mri anf stress test. What confuses me is that they change so much in their appearance. I can get them like crazy at rest…sometimes not. However my main concern is that when Im walking they just start like crazy…insane! It seems like when my heartrate is 100-120 they act up. If i start running they dissapear
High heartrates completely takes them away but low activity like walking makes them act up? Is this normal?..I have been checked out and got excellent cardiac results every single time.
Hi Dave,
If this is a change you should be checked by a cardiologist. That said, the great majority of PVCs are completely benign and require little if any treatment at all. PVCs, PACs etc. are all arrhythmias for which drugs like beta blockers and diltiazem are often used to reduce their frequency and incidence. Occasionally, PVCs may be a sign of underlying heart disease. You can review your cardiac risks here
You might also want to calculate your cardiac risks.
Hope this helps,
