Question:
Hi, I’m 47 years old with a cholesterol of 360. My Tri/254, CHOL/HDL 5.7.  My farther died of heart disease at 62, my mother died of a brain aneurysm at 33. Am I to worry about this? I havent heard anything from my Doc since I got the blood results. I’m a little concerned. Thanks.

Of course you should be concerned. Those numbers are way too high and with your family history you are also at risk! I assume these are not the only factors in your health history that put you at risk.

You should check these links and see what fits your situation:

I don’t know whether these are issues for you, but check them out:
https://www.cardiachealth.org/heart-information/hypertension
https://www.cardiachealth.org/heart-information/diabetes
https://www.cardiachealth.org/heart-information/metabolic-syndrome

If any of these apply to your situation, you are indeed at risk:

Determine your risk:

Hope this helps,
