Calcium scoring

What is your opinion on cardiac calcium scoring? Due to my father haveing had heart disease in his early 50's ( although he is the only person in extended family to have it), I had this proceedure done at a local hsopital known for it's outstanding cardiac care due to a low cost special they were having over a weekend. I'm only 39 with borderline cholesterol and HBP. However, I exercise and try to eat healthy. I have never smoked. Anyway, My score was 0. Is this type test meaningful or simply a gimmick. Thanks
