New onset low blood pressure and chest pain and the risk of heart disease

Hi Dr T, A good friend recently lost a significant amount of weight and started a walking program over a 10 week period. He has been on medication for high blood pressure, however, now his blood pressure is in the range of 90/60 routinely.  He has had 3 episodes of chest pain, centered below the left clavical, not mid chest or anywhere else. Could his (new) low blood pressure cause the chest pain? The chest pain is not accampnied by any other symptoms such as nausea, sweating, shortness of breath, etc. Thank you!

Chest pains can come from many different sources:

Here you can test for chest pain and the risk of heart disease:

Hope this helps,
Dr T,
