Fever and a high heart rate

Hi Dr T, My heart rate has been very high (175 bpm) for the past 3 days and it hasn't stopped. I've also had dizziness, and a fever of 106. What could this be? I can't afford going to the doctor. What should I do?

A fever of 106 is not compatible with life, so I assume it is an error. However, if you have a high fever, you need evaluation & treatment now for what has to be an infection of some sort! Don't wait, go to the doctor, a local ER, or a local free clinic, they are everywhere. My first concern would be to find the source of your high temperature, while looking at your heart rate to so see whether it is just fast vs. an arrhythmia.
If your fast heart rate is not due to your fever (and the underlying causes), it is a potential serious condition in and by itself that needs evaluation by an expert:
Hope this helps,
Dr T
